Avery and I do chat still, mostly on twitter. He’s one of the many people who I met online whom I have subsequently met face-to-face. (Maybe we could catch up again next time he’s in the States.) Since you apparently know enough about both of our political positions enough to ask (?!), I’ll be honest: we do disagree about politics. However, I do sympathize with his concerns. Modernism and liberalism do have a habit of washing away traditions that worked merely because they were traditional, without giving full thought to the consequences of the permissiveness that they replace them with. I happen to disagree with how to fix that — I don’t think Julius Evola has the answers — but I respect where he’s coming from.
