The most horrible sore throat.
I don’t even want to talk.
| Her: | [Sample steward at Whole Foods.] |
| Me: | [Wearing my Beatles cap.] |
| Her: | So, a Beatles fan, yeah? |
| Me: | [Cracker in mouth, unable to respond.] |
| Her: | Did you see McCartney when he was here all those years ago? |
| Me: | ...how old do you think I am? |
| Her: | Uh, thirty? |
| Me: | Haha, no. |
| Her: | ...Thirty-five? |
| Me: | [Amused] I'm twenty-four! |
| Her: | [Horrified] Ah, well, Whole Foods is an older demographic... |

She still can’t wrap her head around me being ok with being car-less.
“When I was trading in my old car for my current one, there was a slight overlap when I didn’t have either of them, and I just about went crazy. I said to [my roommate], ‘What if I have to go to the store?’ She said, ‘Well, then I’d give you a ride.’ I went, ‘That’s not the point!’”
Zoe frowned. “You’re saying that peaceful protest is too lax.”
“I’m saying that there are people down there on the Battery who believe that America is sliding into a corporate fascism, and their best response is to camp out on the tip of a small urban island?”

I don’t mind sitting around waiting for a ride for an hour. I’m doing the exact same thing on my phone that I would be doing at home: dicking around on twitter and tumblr.
| Bus driver: | That outfit makes you look really intelligent, and I mean that as a compliment. |
| Me: | Well, thanks, I'll take it as one. |
| Bus driver: | Hey, that doesn't mean I want to take you out on a date or anything. |
| Me: | ...what? |

I own shares of Disney stock.
I was given these shares by… somebody, back when I was born. An investment.
I get a check, yearly, of the dividend the stock pays out.
I presumably have the actual stock certificates lying around somewhere, probably in my parent’s files, but I do not have ready access to them.
How the heck would I go about selling these stocks, if I wanted to?
